The latest season of American Idol ended back in May, but Ryan Seacrest is busy making a difference with his charity work.
For many years, the TV personality's Ryan Seacrest Foundation has built state-of-the-art media centers (called Seacrest Studios) in various children's hospitals all around the country. Well, he's about to add another one to his ever-growing portfolio, because he announced in a video on Instagram that he'll be heading to Queens, New York this September with his family and surprise celebrity guests to open a brand-new Seacrest Studio at the Cohen Children's Medical Center.
"Hey guys, it is Ryan here," he emotionally began the clip posted on August 7. "I wanted to share some very exciting news about our 13th Seacrest Studio for the Ryan Seacrest Foundation opening in September at Cohen Children's Medical Center in Queens, New York."
He continued: "We have been working on this with the team there for many, many years. So, very excited that it's gonna open, this state-of-the-art media center ... It will be the heartbeat of the whole building, in the atrium for patients and their families to come escape what they might be going through in the hospital."
When fans learned how Ryan's philanthropic work was supporting the creation of another Seacrest Studio, they didn't hesitate to share how proud they were about the prospect.
"What a wonderful act of kindness!! 💕," one person wrote on Instagram. "This is an amazing thing you are doing Ryan, thank you for being such a caring person ❤️," another penned. "Congratulations on the continued success of this incredible program. What a gift to those patients it will be 💙," a different user added.
The news of Ryan opening another Seacrest Studio comes less than three months after he opened his 12th center at the Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis. Alongside the most recent opening, the radio host has opened others in hospitals across the U.S. since November 2010 and is expected to open one more in Salt Lake City later this year.
When Ryan spoke out about creating the New York City location on Live in December 2021, he expressed why doing something like this was essential for him. "You don't realize how important these places are until you have to be inside one," he explained. "It's hard on the family, on the child ... this is hopefully a way to have them escape."
