SAMSUNG Jet 60 Flex Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner for $199 (34% off)

Clean hardwood, tile and rugs with incredible suction power, thanks to Jet Cyclone technology that SAMSUNG claims optimizes airflow and prevents clogging while also efficiently trapping even the smallest dust particles. Its lightweight design and 180-degree swivel head make it easy to move around the house to get under couches, clean crevices and corners. The brand also says the vacuum's special five-layer filtration systems pick up large piles of debris and trap 99.999% of microdust.

iRobot Roomba 692 Robot Vacuum for $164 (45% off)

With the iRobot OS app, schedule your robot vacuum to start cleaning whenever you want, whether you're at home or out running errands. Turn it on with a voice command through Google Assistant or Alexa, plus the brand claims the vacuum actually learns your cleaning habits and usual cleaning schedule. It also uses "patented dirt technology" that helps detect and target dirtier areas of your home, without running into walls, chairs or down the stairs.

Shark Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Upright Vacuum for $149 (32% off)

Named the best overall vacuum on Amazon by the GH Institute's Cleaning Lab pros, this Shark vacuum can be used as both an upright or a canister vacuum. The sealed HEPA system helps trap dust and dirt in the secure bagless dustbin, which can be emptied without having to reach inside and get your hands dirty. The Amazon best-seller has more than 23,000 five-star reviews, and shoppers praised its cleaning power on thick carpets and hardwood floors thanks to its strong suction and durability.

BLACK+DECKER 16V Lithium Compact Hand Vacuum for $40 (33% off)

You can't beat the space-saving benefits of a handheld vacuum, especially one that won't sacrifice suction power. With a built-in dusting attachment and crevice tool, you can easily clean hard-to-reach crevices, baseboards, car seats and other areas that aren't as practical to vacuum with a traditional standing option. Reviewers enjoyed the nozzle's 180-degree rotation for easy cleaning and its washable filter.

Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac 11S for $179 (22% off)

GH cleaning experts have put many robot vacuums to the test, and Eufy continues to dominate as one of the best self-emptying robot vacuums. This particular model has more than 64,000 reviews making it the most-reviewed robot cleaner on Amazon. It uses a special BoostIQ technology that allows the vacuum to change its suction power when detecting a change underneath (like when it moves on or off of a carpet or rug). Reviewers appreciate that its compact size moves easily underneath furniture, plus its quiet run and its long-lasting battery life.

Is Amazon Prime Day a good time to buy a vacuum?

"It’s a very good day to buy a vacuum," says Carolyn Forte, the executive director of the Home Care & Cleaning Lab at the Good Housekeeping Institute. "Any official or even unofficial 'holiday' is. Vacuums are a popular purchase and are often put on sale. In years past, we've seen time and time again huge discount opportunities from big brands."

Historically, we’ve seen giant savings on upright and stick vacuums from Bissell, Shark and even Dyson, according to GH's Deputy Editor Jessica Teich. Past sales included "great deals on robot vacuums from Eufy, Roborock and iRobot Roombas during Prime Day, with savings over 40% off in 2021 and over 50% in 2020 and 2022," she adds.

Do you need to be a Prime member to access Prime Day sales?

Yes! Amazon Prime members get exclusive access to Amazon Prime Day. Luckily, it's easy for new subscribers to unlock deals thanks to the free 30-day free trial. Once the trial window runs out, you can sign up on a monthly or yearly basis. A monthly membership costs $14.99 while a yearly plan costs a one-time fee of $139. For comparison's sake, the monthly membership will cost you about $40 more if you pay in installments for an entire year than if you simply paid an annual fee.
